In battle, compassion for the enemy ultimately leads to suicide. Every oponent you don’t kill can kill you in the next moment… Snipers from World War II knew this, and Belarusian sniper Kyril knows it very well too. He has been fighting alongside the Ukrainian army for a long time. You may remember him from the previous successful collection when we raised funds for optics for his weapon during the summer counteroffensive. Thermal binoculars and night vision have been doing their job on the Donbas, helping Kyril and his team hold the line.
For snipers, seeing the enemy is crucial. Being able to see farther than the enemy is the key to victory and the sniper’s own survival. Kyril is an excellent sniper, but he needs better equipment. His team acquired a sniper rifle that can shoot much farther than their current equipment allows. They need good optics for it. They need the “third eye.” You, along with others, helped them purchase the previous two items, and they have been working on the frontlines in Donbas for a long time.
This war will be long, and the Ukrainian army will need our help. Without weapons and good optics, winning is impossible. And without people willing to sacrifice their comfort and often their lives there will be minimal progress. Kyril is one of them.
Whom will we help?
Becoming part of the Ukrainian army is not easy for Belarusians who want to express their disagreement with the Lukashenko regime and Putin’s Russia. They are automatically seen as enemies, and Ukrainians must view them with suspicion. They must earn the trust of Ukrainians. Kyril has earned that trust. He underwent thorough training and became a sniper in one of the toughest places on the front line – Mariinka. Fighting here requires a great deal of courage and skill.
Kyril proved himself, and the commanders of the 79th ZSU Brigade took notice. Today, he leads a team of people – three pairs of snipers, drone operators, a driver, and other specialists. Kyril has gained a wealth of experience that he passes on to other fighters. And for the fight, he needs more equipment.
What specifically will the funds from this collection be used for?
“We expanded the team, and we will receive a new rifle from one of the sponsors, which can shoot much farther than my current one, up to 1500 meters. But we need a quality scope for it. And we also need to calculate the ballistic trajectory precisely to be more successful than the Russians,” says Kyril, the leader of the sniper team in Donbas. He needs the Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XL50 scope or a fully equivalent one. Kyril and his team work at night, so the demands for quality are high. But thanks to that, he can protect his life as best as possible. In extremely difficult and dangerous conditions, snipers also have to calculate the ballistic trajectory. They can’t dig through tables or search the internet. The best solution is ballistic watches with night vision programs. Kyril needs the Garmin Tactix 7 PRO Solar Sapphire Ballistics Edition Black Nylon Band, which can calculate the ballistic trajectory without endangering its owner.
With better equipment, Kyril and his team will continue to hold the Ukrainian lines and maybe, one day, they will move in the right direction…
